The agreement signed between OFS Portal, LLC and BP furthers the goals of eCommerce between key suppliers and BP. This agreement is an important step to achieving BP’s goal to streamline the procure-to-pay process with major service companies.
BP is one of the world’s largest energy companies, operating across 6 continents with a presence in over 100 countries.
OFS Portal adds value through building relationships, using its knowledge and these relationships to support eCommerce process improvements as well as finding new ways of doing electronic business in the oilfield services industry.
Through this agreement, OFS Portal’s members and BP have established terms to facilitate the exchange of electronic content and transactional information and acknowledge to each other their commitment, regarding the confidentiality and use of the electronic data.
“BP is building off industry experience in eCommerce and has demonstrated their dedication to becoming a leading force,” said William Le Sage, CEO of OFS Portal. “This is an important milestone for OFS Portal as our buyer community now represents 96% of major integrated oil and gas companies’ projected 2006 expenditure in Exploration and Production.”
BP’s main businesses are in exploration and production of oil and gas, refining and marketing of oil products, and the transportation and marketing of natural gas and power. Exploration and Production areas of activity include the US, UK, Russia, Norway, Canada, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. (www.bp.com)
