On 17th February Dave gave a guest lecture to the final year students of the Geoscience Engineering Course at this university. This university has a large geoscience department and currently has a number of post graduates working under Oil & Gas industry sponsorship on PhDs on various Oil Sands and Shale Gas topics.
Dave selected "Economic Strategies in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry", which took 2 hours and covered the different strategies exhibited by IOCs, NOC, Mid Cap and small Operators, plus, the various sizes of suppliers and finally offering a few thoughts on individual / personal economic strategies from his 40 years associated with this industry. The lecture was attended by ~ 40 students, there was a healthy Q&A throughout the session and there were requests for follow-up.
Dave’s lecture was such a success that he was approached by the university to consider other opportunities for future appearances as a guest lecturer.
