OFS Portal Integration Competency Center

The OFS Portal Integration Competency Center (ICC), created in 2005, is a permanent function within OFS Portal. The ICC was established to take advantage of OFS Portal’s unique position within the industry to streamline and improve enterprise B2B integration.

The ICC operates its own Transaction Messaging Service (TMS) which connects operators and suppliers in the efficient transformation and routing of electronic documents. By operating its own TMS, the ICC has gained real, practical, B2B integration experience and can better understand the intricacies and nuances of projects within the realm of B2B integration.

What sets the ICC apart is its ability to observe B2B integration projects across a wide span of the OFS Portal’s community of members and their respective trading partners. This viewpoint allows OFS Portal to identify common challenges and opportunities in e-enablement that exist between and across trading partners in the upstream oil and gas industry.

OFS Portal respects the confidentiality of its members’ and their trading partners’ transactional information and other proprietary processes or data. OFS Portal only shares non-confidential lessons learned regarding the process of B2B integration and e-enablement in the interest of reducing costs and increasing efficiency for all OFS Portal Members and their trading partners.

The insight gained from this vantage point enables OFS Portal’s ICC to develop best practices for e-commerce enablement that benefit all participants in the upstream oil and gas industry. Over time, these efforts have delivered significant cost savings to the entire upstream oil and gas ecosystem.

The upstream oil and gas e-Business arena views OFS Portal’s ICC as a leader and trusted advisor. Its services have been delivered to suppliers and operators alike, both in the U.S. and globally, and it will continue to work to streamline enterprise B2B integration.

PIDX Standards Conformance

OFS Portal is fully committed to the API's PIDX Standards Organization mission (www.pidx.org), and the value that these standards bring to e-enablement in the oil and gas industry.

Consistent with this commitment, OFS Portal has developed a PIDX standards conformance framework and assessment. The assessment can help individual companies evaluate their own and their trading partners capabilities against PIDX’s objective, non-biased, measure.

Conforming to the PIDX standard brings a wide range of significant benefits to new implementations. By using this assessment, operators, service providers and suppliers can ascertain how well their new and existing PIDX implementations conform to the PIDX standard. Another goal of the assessment is to help users understand their weaknesses and identify areas that could bring cost savings from both deployment projects and ongoing operations, if addressed. The goal and benefits of conformance were highlighted in a presentation given by OFS Portal at the PIDX 2009 Spring Conference in Houston.

The OFS Portal PIDX Invoice Conformance Package contains:

  • PIDX Conformance Assessment Worksheet
  • Sample PIDX Invoice Implementation Guide
  • Sample PIDX Invoice Test Plan

These documents are available free of charge to assist organizations in their own evaluations. For those organizations that do not have the necessary expertise to undertake an assessment in-house, the OFS Portal ICC is available to assist.

Before you receive the PIDX Invoice Conformance Package, you will be asked to register with OFS Portal and to accept the license terms and conditions for the PIDX Invoice Conformance Package. Any information you provide in the registration process will be held in accordance with OFS Portal’s privacy policy.
